We are currently in need of a mid-senior Python Developer with a strong emphasis on Python development to join our team. In this role, you will assume a pivotal position in a wide range of technology projects that revolve around quantitative financial modeling. Your core responsibilities will entail designing, coding, and meticulously testing improvements to financial projection models and related tools, with a primary focus on Python development. Additionally, you will be accountable for maintaining and enhancing distributed computing functionality, creating and overseeing Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), and offering invaluable support to end users. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, code, and test enhancements to financial projection models and related tools in Python.
• Maintain and enhance distributed computing functionality using MSHPC, including maintaining a Python API for launching and consolidating distributed jobs.
• Build and maintain Graphical User Interfaces using tools like Plotly Dash, Power BI, Tableau, or other Business Intelligence tools.
• Provide rapid support to end users to resolve model errors and answer user questions.

Key skills required: 

• Intermediate to expert level Python knowledge, with at least 3-4 years of experience as a professional software developer and a minimum of 2 year developing code in Python.
• Python experience should include Pandas and Numpy.
• Superior time management skills and solid ability to handle multiple projects at once with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, specifically being able to explain complicated technical concepts to business users without IT backgrounds.
• Good working knowledge of Object Oriented coding principles.

Nice to have:

• Front-end development experience.
• Dash experience would be most highly valued, Flask or Django experience would also be beneficial.
• Our front-end GUIs are internal facing so functionality is prioritized over esthetics. We're not looking for a graphic designer! 
• Prior experience in Insurance or other Financial Services.
• Knowledge of basic financial and actuarial concepts.
